Email support@thetradescript.com and a person will read it. Below are the questions that come up most, in case one of them saves you the wait.
Adding the keyboard
Open Settings, then General, then Keyboard, then Keyboards. Tap Add New Keyboard and choose Black Keyboard. It now sits alongside the keyboard you already have rather than replacing it.
To use it, press the globe key at the bottom of any keyboard. Holding the globe key instead shows the full list, which is quicker when you have several installed.
It is not showing up in that list
The Black Keyboard app has to be installed and opened once before iOS offers the keyboard under Add New Keyboard. If you have opened it and the list still does not show it, restarting the phone is the usual fix.
Making the letters bolder or bigger
Open the Black Keyboard app. Under Options there are four switches:
- Bold text thickens the letters on the keys.
- Use large font grows them to fill each key.
- Autocorrect & suggestions turns correction and the suggestion strip on or off.
- Swipe to type turns gliding between letters on or off.
Changes apply the next time the keyboard appears. If it is on screen while you change a setting, switch away and back.
Dictation
Black Keyboard has no dictation key. The microphone below the keyboard on iPhone belongs to the system, not to us. To dictate, hold the globe key and switch to Apple's keyboard.
Clearing the words it has remembered
When you reject a correction, Black Keyboard remembers that word so it stops correcting it. That is the only thing it keeps, it stays on your device, and it is never sent anywhere. To erase it, open the app and tap Clear remembered words. It cannot be undone, and those words can be autocorrected again afterwards.
The strip above the keyboard is grey, not black
That band belongs to iOS. It sits above every third-party keyboard on the system and is drawn before ours gets to draw anything, so no keyboard, including this one, can colour it.
Autocorrect and swipe are not behaving like Apple's
They are not Apple's. iOS does not make its correction or gesture-typing engines available to any third-party keyboard, so both of ours are built from scratch and will not match the system keyboard exactly. If a particular word is corrected wrongly or cannot be glided, that is worth an email: send the word and we will look at it.
Privacy
Black Keyboard never requests Full Access and has no networking code, so nothing you type can leave your device. The privacy policy sets out what is stored locally and why.
