Privacy policy
Last updated 5 August 2026. Applies to the Quick Timer macOS app, published by The Trade Script, LLC.
Quick Timer does not collect anything about you, and it never contacts anyone over the internet. There is no account to create, no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising code inside it, and the app makes no network requests of any kind. Your timers are files on your Mac, in the same sense that a note in TextEdit is.
That is short enough to be suspicious, so the rest of this page says exactly what the app stores, what it does with sound and notifications, and everything it does not do.
1. What we collect
Nothing. We operate no service that receives data from the app, so there is no database with your name in it, no log of what timers you set, and no profile of you anywhere. This is not a promise about how we behave with data we hold. We do not hold any.
The app contains no third-party software development kits, so there is also no analytics vendor, advertising network or crash reporter collecting anything on their own account. It is built on Apple's own frameworks and our code.
2. What the app stores on your device
Inside the app's own sandbox container on your Mac, and nowhere else:
- The timers you have set, including the label you typed, the duration you chose, the sound you picked, and whether each one is running, paused or finished.
- The presets you have saved with the bookmark button, using the same three fields.
- Your Launch at login choice, if you enable it (recorded by macOS itself, not us).
All of it lives in the app's sandbox container, which macOS keeps separate from other apps. Deleting Quick Timer deletes all of it. If you back up your Mac, this data is part of that backup, under whatever settings you have chosen with Apple. We are not a party to that backup and cannot read it.
3. Network requests
Quick Timer makes no network requests. Not to us, not to Apple, not to anyone. There is no fetcher, no update check, no telemetry ping, no error reporting call. The app has no code that opens a network connection.
4. Sound and notifications
When a timer ends, the app plays the built-in macOS system sound you picked for it and asks macOS to show a notification. Both happen locally on your Mac. The sounds are the ones shipped with macOS, and the notification is a standard system notification, the same kind Calendar and Reminders use.
macOS asks for your permission the first time the app tries to show a notification. If you say no, timers still work; you just do not see the banner, and the chosen sound loops until you silence the timer.
5. Launch at login
Settings has a "Launch at login" option. Enabling it asks macOS to open Quick Timer when you log in, using Apple's Service Management framework. macOS itself remembers the setting; nothing is sent anywhere, and the app appears in your Login Items in System Settings for you to remove any time.
6. What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or share your information, because we do not have any.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app contains no advertising identifiers.
- We do not sync your timers to a cloud service of ours. There is not one.
- We do not check for updates or phone home for any reason. Updates arrive through the Mac App Store or TestFlight, on your schedule.
7. Your control, and deletion
Because nothing reaches us, there is no request you need to send us to
see, correct or delete your data. You already hold all of it. Delete a
timer in the app to remove that timer. Delete the app from
/Applications, then delete the folder at
~/Library/Containers/com.thetradescript.quicktimer, to
remove everything at once.
Rights under laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA generally attach to a company holding your personal information. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose, port or erase. You are welcome to write to us and ask us to confirm that.
8. Children
Quick Timer is a plain countdown timer and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app ever does something this page does not describe, this page changes first and carries a new date at the top. The commitment we are making is narrow and specific on purpose: a page this short is easy to check against what the app actually does, and we would rather be held to it.
